The University of Hong Kong (HKU) Libraries has traversed 111 years, sharing the journey of Hong Kong's transformations through different eras and telling Hong Kong's stories, big and small.
In 2025, as HKU Libraries steps into its 112th year, we are honored to celebrate the 115th International Women's Day by hosting an exhibition featuring Ms. Olivia Cheng. In collaboration with the University of Hong Kong Press, we are also launching her new book, Flying High Olivia, to raise funds for HKU Libraries.
Ms. Olivia Cheng, a native Hong Konger, has transformed from being a Miss Hong Kong and an artist in the entertainment industry to a ceramic sculptor, photographer, engraver, golf coach, and Cantonese opera singer. Her evolution reflects her belief: one should not limit themselves and should have the courage to innovate and persevere. Her life exemplifies independent thinking and self-determination, becoming a role model for women and inspiring HKU students.
Through this exhibition, HKU Libraries offers HKU staff, students, alumni, and the public an in-depth understanding of Olivia Cheng's story.
