HKU Receives Eight Awards in China's Excellent Young Scientists Fund
Eight young HKU researchers have been awarded the 2023 Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Hong Kong and Macau) by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, with HKU receiving the largest share of the 25 awards made for the fifth consecutive year.

Researchers of the LKS Faculty of Medicine of HKU (HKUMed) have acquired three international accolades: 2023 William B. Coley Award from the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) for Professor Tak Mak Tak-wah, Department of Pathology, School of Clinical Medicine; Associate Member of European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) for Professor Kathryn Cheah Song-eng, School of Biomedical Sciences; and Member of the Academia Europaea for Professor Chak-sing Lau, Dean of Medicine.
